Best piece of advice

During the recent years, I've heard a few pieces of advice that have affected the way I go about my daily life. I’d like to share these thoughts, because someone might find these tips helpful. You’ve all heard the question, what do you want to do with your life? Usually, people answer that they want to get a job that they like and that pays you well, maybe travel the world and enjoy things. These answers are solid, but the question can be taken a step further to give you a different kind of perspective. Image a scenario where you win the lottery. Now you have unlimited money and can do everything you’ve ever dreamed of doing. Now imagine yourself 10 years after you have won the lottery. You have travelled every single place on earth that you ever wanted to visit, you’ve bought your dream cars and houses, you’ve acquired so many unique memories and experienced everything you ever wanted. Imagine there are no more places to travel, no more experiences to experience and no more things...

 The answer to the question “What are you going to be when you grow up?” has always been somewhat of a question mark for me. I have never had a clear vision about what I'm going to do next in life. But I’ve always known that I don’t want to just sit back and do nothing, I want to do something cool and interesting. I want to be successful in life. When I finished high school, I was quite lost because I didn’t know where to apply next. However, computers have always interested me and had a place in my heart. I was naturally good at solving problems with computers since I had spent a good amount of time with computers. I trusted my instincts and decided to apply for information processing at the university of Oulu. Now I’m 20 years old and a first-year student at the university of Oulu, studying information processing. So far it has been great, I’ve enjoyed the topics, and I feel like I am good at this.
